Programme Structure

Launch Event:

A cross-school event where pupils meet their Envision Coach and business mentors, hear presentations from a range of local charities, and select their active citizenship project issue.

In-school Sessions:

Weekly sessions facilitated by Envision Coaches who support pupils to develop essential skills through designing and delivering their project.

Business Mentoring Sessions:

Three sessions hosted by a local business where mentors support pupils to develop their social confidence whilst offering insight into the world of work.

Team Challenge Events:

Pupils take part in progressively demanding team challenges throughout the programme to prepare for two events:

  • The Charity Challenge requires young people to work closely with their business mentors to prepare and deliver an interactive event for employees at their partner business that raises awareness and money for their chosen charity. The event includes an ‘Awareness Raiser’ round, a ‘Changemaker’ round, and a Q&A between the young people and employees.
  • The Pitching Challenge is the final cross-school event where teams from each school present a persuasive pitch about their charity and project to a panel of VIP judges to compete to be crowned the Community Apprentice champions. The event includes an awards ceremony acknowledging both team and individual achievements throughout the programme.
