Coaching and Mentoring

Our coaches and mentors harness young people's enthusiasm for their cause to enable them to develop their confidence and skills.

Every team of young people meets with their Envision Coach once a week thoughout the 13-week programme. Coaches help them to develop the skills they need to come up with their own ideas, solve their own problems and get stuff done.

We also partner every team with a local business which supports their projects by hosting them to give a presentation and carry out a fundraising activity with their staff.  They also supply a team of volunteer mentors who help the young people to prepare for this event.

Envision facilitates four workshops for each separate team of young people and their business mentors, three of which take place in the workplace.  These sessions are designed to provide high quality, meaningful employer engagement and enhance outcomes in our programme by:

  1. building self-confidence through positive feedback

  2. building social confidence by providing the opportunity to interact with adults within a workplace environment

  3. supporting the development of teamworking and presentation skills

  4. helping young people to understand how the skills they develop through the programme are relevant to the workplace

The business mentoring sessions helped me see my confident-self a lot more. My mentor told me to keep practising meeting new people so I'm going to try and do that.
