Impact Partner status

Envision has become one of the first organisations to gain certification under a new scheme to recognise youth social action organisations that are deeply committed to learning about and improving their outcomes through a shared impact framework.

The scheme, which has been developed by Generation Change, is being supported by a range of funding organisations including the #iwill fundPaul Hamlyn Foundation and the Co-Operative Foundation.

Just six organisations have completed the first 12-month rigorous process of independent validation and improvement called the Impact Accelerator, currently delivered in partnership with Dartington Service Design Lab. Here's what Envision has done over this time:

·     We have further enhanced our theory of change which sets out in logical terms how our activities relate to social mobility.

·     We have become much more precise about the types of confidence and skills we develop. For our skills, such as creative thinking, we have specified a range of transferable techniques we want young people to be able to use after the programme.

·     We have extended the personal skills challenges, which proved effective in the new KS4 programme, to KS5. Young people will collect points towards their team’s entry for the final Boardroom Challenge by completing tasks which demonstrate specific skills and techniques in our refined outcomes framework.

·     We have overhauled session plans and resources and produced new logbooks to ensure we provide young people with appropriate opportunities to complete and record these challenges.

·     We will be using the scales identified by the Behavioural Insights Team and approved by the Education Endowment Fund to assess developments in personal and social confidence.

·     We have improved our client database so that we can analyse the relationship between inputs, outcomes and impacts to better understand what works in support of continuous improvement.

As a result of these developments we have now become an official Generation Change Impact Partner and will be able to use the logo to signal our commitment to evaluation to donors and prospective partners.
