Exclusive places for new Regatta London 2019

We are giving friends of Envision the exclusive opportunity to join London's brand new and only paddle sport mass participation event on the River Thames on Sunday 29th September 2019!

Our partner Tideway is half-way through their project to re-route sewage from the central section of the River Thames. They want to leave a legacy in London long after the tunnel is complete. Cue Regatta London...

Regatta London is a mass participation paddle sport event which challenges competitors to complete a 12-mile course from Hammersmith in the West to Greenwich Naval College in the East. The journey can be made by stand up paddle board, rowing boat or canoe and is the brainchild of Olympic Medallist Andrew Triggs-Hodge OBE, the retired British rower and triple Olympic Gold Medallist, quadruple World Champion... and past Envision Business Mentor!

Envision has a limited number of places for the inaugrual event. So that we can calculate how many places to reserve, we would like to hear from you if you or anyone you know might be interested in taking part and fundraising for Envision. Please share this with your networks and anyone who is interested should email Rosie Nicholas on rosie@envision.org.uk with 'Regatta London' in the subject line to express your interest by 12 noon on Wednesday 20th March. But hurry, places are extremely limited! Please note that by emailing Envision you are not committing to the event nor any payment at this stage.

The event is not yet in the public realm so information is limited, however here's a run-down of the key points:

  • London Regatta will take place on the morning of Sunday 29th September 2019 (exact timings TBC)
  • The course will pass four World Heritage Sites along the River Thames from Hammersmith to Greenwich
  • London Regatta will close the Thames Barrier so the river will not be tidal
  • There is not a comparable event like this available to the public - the only one similiar in terms of scale is the Diamond Jubilee Pageant
  • Envision has exclusive places and based on the event's expression of interest so far places will sell out!
  • It is possible to train for this kind of event in around 3 months and Envision can put you in touch with organisations that can help with training and equipment hire
