Vacancy - Internship programme (Birmingham- paid)

We offer young people the opportunity to develop themselves whilst developing others.  So too for those on our formal internship programme.

This structured programme, which runs from August 2019 to June 2020, offers succesful candidates the opportunity to:

  • make a difference for young people by helping them to tackle wider problems in society and
  • develop a range of skills in facilitation, programme management and stakeholder relations.

The only difference is that, unlike our young people, you get paid!

Many organisations think of an internship as an extra pair of hands. Not us. Our interns are a vital part of our front-line delivery team: each of them responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of our programme in around 5 schools.

With real responsibility comes real reward.  You will get to see young people grow in confidence and know that this is down to the opportunities you have created for them.

Each term you will support five small groups of 13 young people, facilitating group activities (one session a day) to support them to identify a charity they want to support and organise a range of projects to raise awareness and funds in their school and supporter business.

Through our formal training programme (including a residential) and coaching we will support you to develop your skills working with young people.  You’ll also develop your organisation and problem-solving skills whilst co-ordinating activity between your schools, businesses and charities as well as by organising cross-school events. You’ll also get the opportunity to organise fun and inspiring cross-school events.

Many of our interns go on to work for Envision after the programme, but this depends upon the number of vacancies we have available in any one year.
