Key Stage 5 Programme Coordinator - Birmingham

Lilian’s journey to Envision began soon after she graduated from University. Her first graduate job was within the Aberystwyth University Career Service supporting students to developing their employability skills. Through this role she managed her first mentoring programme and experienced first-hand the potential mentoring has to transform a young person’s future prospects.

She later went on to work for The Brightside Trust, a London charity that uses online mentoring to connect young people with inspirational role models. She is a firm believer that no matter what background you’re from, everyone should have access to the networks and opportunities that will enable them to make the right decisions about their futures.

Growing up in Birmingham, Lilian experienced first-hand the issues affecting young people in the city. She is an advocate for youth social action and believes with the right support young people have the power to make a positive impact on the issues that concern them. She loves to get creative particularly through painting and is always thinking of ways to inspire creativity amongst the young people she coaches.

At Envision, I love that I get to work along-side likeminded people who are passionate about empowering young people. On our programme young people put so much enthusiasm and energy into making their community a better place- it inspires me to get out there and make a difference too!
