Our Values

Leading by example . . .

In this great interview, the inspiring educationalist Sir Ken Robinson reminds us that in aeroplane safety announcements you are told to put your own oxygen mask on before you try to help somebody else.  He uses the analogy to make the point that teachers and mentors can not hope to develop competencies in others unless they are competent themselves.

As an organising seeking to instil character and values in young people, we take our own culture and values very seriously and we seek staff, volunteers and partners who share them.

Purposeful Fun

We engage young people, our supporters and each other by having fun, but there is always a clear goal or outcome underpinning everything we do. We always take our work seriously, but never ourselves!

Realistic Idealists

We are driven to make the world a better place but take pragmatic actions in helping to bring it about.

‘Do-ability’

We are solutions focused, foster creative problem solving and are courageous about trying new things.

Collaboration

We achieve more by working with people and organisations different to ourselves.
