Refugees and Asylum seekers
Many people come to the UK seeking asylum after experiencing conflict, poverty or discrimination in their own country.
Often their life in the UK is also difficult as they struggle with language and culture and face problems both working and integrating into society. It is important to deepen people’s understanding of the reasons why refugees and asylum seekers choose to leave their country and highlight the difficulties they face during their first months in the UK.
One Envision team attempted to understand the issue by inviting a group of ESOL students to their school to talk about why they left their home country.
