The Warm Up
On Friday 20th November nearly 200 young Londoners descended on The Museum of London for the Envision Warm Up event – an interactive evening of masterclasses, activities and discussions on topical issues such as knife crime, climate change and homelessness.
The young people, all aged between 16 and 18, represent over 60 schools from across London who have signed up to the Envision schools programme and all of them are united in wanting to make a positive difference in their schools, neighbourhoods or communities.
This event was the first time the school teams have come together to meet and talk to other inspirational young people about the various community projects that they are working on. The evening kicked off with a welcome from Envision’s founder Nick Nielsen before students broke off into 16 different master classes, skill shops and activities.
The skills based workshops were given by a host of specialist organizations including Save the Children, Global Generation and Greenshoes Theatre, delivering skills such as how to build a campaign, how to plan an event and what makes a good presentation.
The night was a great success, giving students the skills and inspiration to help them go back to their schools and communities and make a difference.
