Enfield County turn up the HEAT
Following their day handcuffed to each other, Jess from the Enfield County HEAT (Humans Everywhere Against Trafficking) team tells us about raising money for Stop the Traffik...
"We had our fairtrade cake sale at the lower school. The money we raised will go to Stop the Traffik - we also contributed money towards fairtrade farming when we bought fairtrade products.
The reason we had a fairtrade cake sale is because a lot of the cocoa beans picked in africa are picked by child slaves, which is a form of human traffiking and fairtrade chocolate is the only guarantee we have that chocolate is traffik free. After setting up, we sold all of the products we had made and bought including several cups of fairtrade hot chocolate.
The fairtrade resources we had were given out and we raised over £70. We had fun, especially since we got to wear our new orange t-shirts!"
Well done team HEAT!
