Sharing Good Practice

Envision has been sharing its learning with a national network of Enterprise Coordinators who are working with schools throughout England.

The Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) hosted a celebratory event for its network of Enterprise Advisors & Coordinators. The event, held at Kidzania in Shepherd’s Bush, hosted 250 delegates from across the UK.

Speakers at the event included Christine Hodgson FCA, the Chair of the CEC and Claudia Harris, one of the CEC’s Enterprise Advisors.

Jenny Welsh (pictured), London Regional Manager, was invited to host 3 workshops about mentoring. These workshops emphasised the importance of business mentors to the Envision ‘Community-Apprentice’ programme, in particular, their ability to foster confidence in the young people on the programme. Through business mentoring sessions, the young people begin to see the value of the skills they're developing as they learn how they're applied in the work place.

The Careers and Enterprise Company began their 'What Works' research series earlier this month. These podcasts are designed to help schools, employers and careers and enterprise providers use evidence to help shape their work about preparing young people for the world of work. Envision will be featuring as part of the series, you can listen in on the following dates:

Wednesday 8th November 13.00-13.30
