Getting your story in the media

Calling all Envision Birmingham Teams. Are you interested in journalism or creative writing? Do you want to find out how you to write a press release, how to contact journalists and increase your chances of getting your news story into the media?

We organised an afternoon at the offices of The Birmingham Post to give Envision's Press Officers the opportunity to learn everything they needed to know about how to get your story published.

Students had the chance to practice writing their own press release and had experts on hand to give useful feedback. They also got top tips on how to approach a journalist as well as how not to! The group had a guided tour of a working newsroom and the Editor of The Birmingham Post was on hand to share his newsroom experience.
