Xenia has a strong background in youth engagement work both in the UK and overseas. As a young person she first became involved with youth activism through international volunteering charity UNA Exchange, and also took part in Oxfam’s CHANGE programme for youth activists. From there went on to manage international youth exchange programmes in the Philippines and South Africa with VSO, aimed at inspiring young people to become active global citizens.
Since returning to the UK she has managed the Citizenship Foundation’s InterACT project, bringing young refugees and local young people together to explore local issues and set up their own social action projects to tackle them. Most recently she has overseen the training and volunteer re-engagement on the government funded International Citizen Service pilot programme at youth-led development agency Restless Development. Xenia has extensive experience of building relationships with community stakeholders, and of inclusive and participatory training and group facilitation techniques.
What I love most about working at Envision is being part of such a passionate and talented team of people who are 100% committed to supporting young people to prove that they have the energy and the skills to make our communities a better place to lie.
