David Halley



David Halley was Head of International Partnerships at Business in the Community in London until his retirement in December 2011. He developed and co-ordinated a global network of partners in 65 countries, a grouping of 125 independent specialised NGOs providing CSR consultancy, brokerage and project management at local, national and international level.

He is author of a range of influential publications including 'The Complete Guide to Employee Community Involvement', European Commission 1999, and 'The ECI Company Workbook', CSR Europe 2000. He is co-author of the ENGAGE Community Investment DVD toolkit.

Prior to BITC, David followed a business career with IBM Corporation and with Digital Equipment Corp. Among the positions he held were International Marketing Manager, IBM Entry Systems Division, in the USA, part of the team which launched the groundbreaking IBM Personal Computer, London Regional Manager for the IBM Personal Computer Business, and General Manager, Marketing and Distribution, DEC NZ.

The work which Envision does is not only inspiring in itself but is in practice a great engine for encouraging and enthusing young people, especially from less privileged backgrounds, to be ambitious and creative and to be the best they can be. I saw great examples of co-operation at our recent event, young people achieving things together which they might not have done alone.
